Education

Rayaan Foundation operates the principle of right to education which many governments worldwide recognized. Since the collapse of the Somali government in 1991, all governmental institutions among them Education sector was missed, though the private sector revived the role of education and has done a very significant achievement. Rayaan Foundation identified that majority of the people haven’t access for education because of their financial status, the organization established a number of Schools countrywide among them:- • Ainu Shamsi Elementary and Secondary School located in Kahda District, Banadir Region, this school enrolled and attended by a number of students exceeding 800 Students, which 47% of them are girls. The School offers free education to the orphans and low-income communities in order to get right to learn which will provide them a bright future and partake the stability of the country. • Al falah Primary & Intermediate School, Located in Dayniile District, Banadir Region, attends by 720 (Seven hundred and twenty) Students, 45% are girls, and the organization don’t charge fees for Orphans and needed people in order to achieve one of our overall goals which is to diminish and eradicate the number of illiterate children and youth, though the efforts being paid by Rayaan for educating children those missed the opportunity to attend schools because of financial incapability by their parents. • Ayub Shekey Primary and Secondary School, Located in Burhakaba, Bay Region, this district is about 186 KM from Mogadishu capital City of Somalia, it’s one of the regions those devastated by the civil strife and also kicked by the famines frequently. Rayan Foundation founded this School in 2008, while the district and surrounding villages were suffering lack of education facilities except very few primitive and non formal education centres were operating, Rayan Foundation enrolled a number of students and paid awareness activities promoting the importance of education, up-to-date attending number of students had exceeded 650 (Six hundred and fifty students) 43% of them are girls.
